Do you know where Inspiration Lives?
I don't know about you, but often what I need is right under my nose. Take my book for example. I wrote is as a Christmas "DIY" book. Make beautiful ornaments from ordinary card stock.
That is just the beginning of the story. After Christmas I decided to revisit the book and re-release it as a "Make your everyday day life more beautiful" book hoping to inspire my readers to make the pretty things in the book to enhance their surroundings.
Guess what?
Guess who was inspired?
Me, Yes that's right me!
Talk about everything you need being right under your nose.
When I decided to review the book for re-release I went back in to the content and started to play with the projects. I got to the flowers and something unexpected happened. I started making flowers and they kept getting bigger and bigger…so now I have 2 four foot flowers in my house along with so many others…we barely have room to sit anywhere!
So all this to say, when someone tells you you have everything you need right under your nose, they just might be right. In fact I am going out on a limb and saying they are right!
And one more thing…I was a painter not a sculptor, in fact in my mind sculpture took up space and block the view to looking at a beautiful painting!
My final thought? Open your mind, check out what is right there, under your nose. Take "it" what ever that might be and carry "it" with you and use "it"…you will be so happy you did!
Make today your best day ever!
Michele
So happy you stopped by today and grateful for your thoughts!

Great video and you are so spot on about the inspiration right under our nose… at times it is too close and we just don't see. This where coaching can be very useful…which actually uncover the blind spots for people. You are so lucky to be able uncover yourself! Thank you Michele and see you soon.
Hi Michele,
Thanks for your inspiration! Yes, it is usually right under my nose or in the back of my mind. All I need to do is look right in front of me and/or listen to my inner thinkings.
Here I am again. Great flowers!
Thanks for sharing this, I found my inspiration helping my clients with social media. I have been following you for a bit. And you inspired me again today Thanks
Lorraine
I love seeing that big, beautiful flower on your wall! And what a great story. You are such an inspiration. I'll be paying more attention to what's right under my nose!
Great post! (And video – especially the last 20 sec LOL!!) I've been experiencing this exact same thing these past few weeks as I've been clearing out the clutter. I've stumbled across so many things I forgot I had, that won't only be inspiring, but also help me make more money – as long as I put them to use. Thanks for sharing this, and PLEEEEASE keep doing those flowers and sharing them – and try them out in all different kinds of shapes/colors. You can be the Paper Flower Sculpting Guru or something!! LOL I will not be surprised if your work goes viral, and a celebrity hires you to do some work for them and you end up on a craft special on those morning talk shows or something… Mark my words!!! Just don't forget us when you're famous…
So true! Sometimes I amaze myself at what I have forgotten that I know! Just the other day I was talking to a friend about a problem she was having with her website and suddenly all of this info came gushing out of my mouth!! She said, "Wow! You could write a book!" Ha!!
Wow, isn't this the absolute truth? The other day I was teaching someone something and realized that I needed to take my own advice LOL. Thanks for sharing!
LOL, Michelle, this happens to me all the time! I am so happy I am not the only one! Thanks for sharing.
lovely article and website! great job Michelle. Me, creative? only if I have to cut the stems and put flowers into the vase – not much more! hahaha – you're great!
This is so pretty I loved the flower and it is amazing what we can find under our noses of we look..;)
So true that things are right under our nose and we don't always see them. If we look from another perspective we can also reuse some of what's there but in a different way. Great job. Wish I was creative but everyone has their strengths.
fun, fun, fun… delightful mission. I like that. I'm on the hunt now. I'm a technician/logical type by trade but I love dabbling with my artistic side too… photography and painting. Flowers have got to be tones of fun! And your smile is super contagious!
I love this! I have to chuckle that I have mixed feelings about some of the major chain craft stores out there. On one hand, they have such a wonderful array of material to work with that is just a delight to play with. On the other hand – it seems like they promote a message that creativity is "out there" somewhere, and you'll only be appropriately creative if you have the right supplies, their supplies, or their class, or their ______ to do the popular craft of the moment "correctly." Sometimes the joy and creativity really is in seeing something differently that you already have and envisioning it in an entirely new way.
Thanks for another lovely post!
Congratulations on tuning into your own wisdom and encouraging the rest of us to do the same!
This is so true… Very important to know, that you can't find your passion unless you take the first step. And then another one, then another one, until you find out that you are in the middle of where you were meant to be. Great video!
these are so gorgeous! and I love your inspiration. thank you… (and where can we buy them??)
I always appreciate your crafts, Michelle. You have great ideas! I love doing some myself when I have time. Thanks for sharing. x0x
I love seeing that big, beautiful flower on your wall too
Love reading your articles! Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for the article Michele, you are an inspiration to all of us. As we move into springtime I'll be getting out in the garden for sure so hopefully I can grow so beautiful flowers like the ones you present for us!!
Ah, yes, the grand Doh!! I've also experienced this, Michele.
Reading your article makes me realize that I all too often roll my eyes and beat myself up (at least a little) for not noticing the right-under-my-nose resource earlier. I'm going to choose to focus less on self-directed exasperation and more on gratitude that I've had the awareness. Thanks so much for that!
This is so true Michele, and what a great reminder! We so often look outside ourselves for greatness when it was really lying within us the whole time~ just waiting to be unleashed.
Love it Michele. You make it look so simple, but for people like me oh my gosh. I tried painting and gave the elderly oil painting teacher a challenge. I can play with food very easily. What a great inspirational message. Thanks.
